After a long time, we bring again something from the Boutique guitar edition, this time from the Gibson workshop. In this article, we present the gradual rebirth of this guitar classic from the 1980s.

This is a classic Gibson Les Paul Standard made in 1984.

This rock and blues legend has become Gibson's flagship and has been produced unchanged for more than 60 years.

At the request of the owner, we inhaled a new soul into this nice rare guitar and gradually modified and renovated the original components.

The work was again carried out by gradually replacing the originally installed components with new ones. Guitar experts will definitely be interested in the new compensated zero fret of Earvan Graphtech, which we replaced with the original one.

It was a complete guitar service. We will mention what specifically this involved gradually.

1. Adjusting the fingerboard

As for the adjustment of the fingerboard, it did not do without complete fretting this time either. We removed the original frets and aligned the fingerboard.

We replaced the original sleepers with new ones according to our standard. We get used to using hard roasting wire on sleepers, so finished sleepers should be said to last forever.

As mentioned above, we replaced the original zero fret with an early sleeper with Earvan compensation from Graphtech material.

2. Body modification and replacement of components

The body of the guitar was replaced by sensors, the electrical chamber was grounded with copper, and the electrical diagram, potentiometers, and position switch were modified.

The original bridge contained metal stones, which we replaced with new ones made of Graphtech material.

The owner uses the guitar in the classical tuning, and after this adjustment, its characteristic sound was spiced up a bit more. You can see the result yourself:
